Police and Customs seize 145 220 Pounds in Qafë-Botë BCP.

Denis Duro, a 25-year-old citizen in Korça, is arrested for the criminal offense "Non-declaration at the border of money and valuable items" and "Laundering of crime proceeds".

This citizen who was traveling with a Mecedes-Benz Sprinter model vehicle, with BV 67 KWN license plates, entered into Albania from Greece via the Qafë-Botë Border Crossing Point, Saranda.

Denis Duro declared at the BCP the he was transporting goods, such as washing machines and refrigerators, while he did not declared the amount of money he was hidding

Operational Investigative Structures of Saranda Customs House in cooperation with the Police have stopped the vehicle and accompanied it to BCP Kakavije for a full check with the scanner. Customs and Police Structures had the information that this citizen was transporting a large amount of Cash which he did not declare at the border.

After the detailed inspection and scanning done in Kakavija, in some washing machines, Police and Operational Investigative Structures of Customs found and seized 145 220 British Pounds.

At the end, the citizen Denis Duro was arrested in flagrancy and the materials were forwrded to the Prosecutor's Office of the Saranda First Instance Court for further proceedings.
