Avoiding Customs Duties, investigation of different cases

Changing and falsifying the data of different vehicles by avoiding Customs Duties has resulted on beggining of investigations from the Investigation Directorate of the Albanian Customs Administration.

So for the first months of this year, the Customs Investigation Directorate has referred to the Prosecution Office for further investigation of fraud and evasion of Customs Duties 10 cases, of which 4 different models of luxury vehicles have been seized, menawhile during 2017 have been referred 96 cases .

Referrals have been passed for further prosecution from the District Prosecution Offices of Tirana, Durrës, Gjirokastra, Përmet, Saranda and Elbasan. There are seized 9 luxury vehicles of recent years models, with a value of about 33 million ALL.

For 15 vehicles, there is a decision for the recovery of Customs Duties in the amount of 3.808.862 ALL and penalties of 8.108.560 ALL.

Investigations continue for the other cases.
